Kenneth J. Lane Diamond, Carved Ivory & Enamel Seahorse Bracelet

on Hold

NWS 1-1430

~ Well,... Kenneth J. Lane has done it again! For those of us who adore his "animal kingdom" jewelry, this Seahorse Bracelet is one of his best creature creations. The little seahorse looks as though he has been carved out of the purest, whitest ivory, but it's really plastic (of course!... use of real ivory is illegal...).  This seahorse sits atop your wrist and watches people come and go all day long, bringing delight to everyone who sees you. Now that's a good way to cheer everyone up, but hey, it's not just about being playful. It's also about high fashion! Here's what I mean:

KJLSeaHorseBracelet5.jpg (10704 bytes) On the left is Marisa Berenson, grand-daughter of Elsa Schiaparelli, shown in Vogue, 1972: "Tiffany's golden trophy of precious pets brought back from a jewel-safari, to wear in herds, or alone on one arm - lion with diamond mane and ruby eyes; diamond-head alligator with emerald eyes; emerald-eyed ram striped in diamonds; and an elephant with sapphire eyes and a diamond peanut dangling".

~ This Seahorse Bracelet is decorated in black enamel, with gold details denoting the plates of his body. He has large, faceted crystal eyes, with dozens more Swarovski crystal stones as trim.

~ This bracelet measures approx. 6 1/2" inside diameter and is 7/8" tall on top.

~ The bracelet has a hinge on one side, with a shovel clasp on the opposing side for easy on/off.

~ Signed on the reverse "KennethİLane"on an oval plaque.

~ Kenneth J. Lane understood women, and he honored them with beautiful jewelry. Why do you think the Duchess of Windsor preferred Kenneth's designs? She had access to the best jewelers in the world and could easily afford "the Crown Jewels", but she preferred Kenneth J. Lane! In fact, Lane's jewelry quickly became famous world-wide, and the long list of his customers includes the rich and famous, like Sophia Loren, Barbara Bush, Jackie Kennedy, and Nancy Reagan. So when you're buying Lane, you know you're getting the very best.

c. 1970, best guess, in excellent condition.
