Jomaz Retro Diamond Earrings NWS 1-1348 ~ Joseph Mazer ("Jomaz) was another 20th century master jeweler. These earrings display all of his ability and superior workmanship, and the crystals are of the finest quality. Mazer is well known for his fantastic Retro jewelry. ~ These earrings were made during the Retro era (1938-1952), when a handful of flowers or leaves was frequently depicted as a poesy, gathered together with a ribbon tied at the stems. ~ Though these earrings are made primarily of goldtone metal, the major design portion is made with rhodium plated metal, making them look like platinum. These silvery brilliant areas are covered with dozens of pavé set, faceted, faux diamonds. ~ The crystal areas are emphasized with high-relief edges of gold that look like twisted rope. ~ Earrings are clips and measure 1.25" high. ~ Signed on the reverse of both earrings "JOMAZ". c. 1948 Price = $125.00 Who was Mazer (Jomaz)? |
