Vintage Drippy Beads Clamper & Earrings Set c. 1950 NWS 9-1457
~ This set is absolutely awesome. A profusion of beautiful, faceted glass beads in colors of pale and deep aqua blue, pale sugary green and deep emerald green have been attached to the gilt base metal to display a dazzling array of sparkling color. ~ Starting with the clamper bracelet, the golden metal has been sculpted into scores of leaves and vines that will gracefully wrap themselves around your wrist. Dozens of faceted dark aquamarine and dark green crystals have been embedded into the design, with bezel settings, forming a dramatic background for the upper layer of beads. ~ The upper layer contains faceted round and barrel shaped crystals. These beads have been attached to the lower layer with golden loops. ~ The bracelet measures 1.5" wide including the dangling beads. The inside circumference measures 6.8" long, but this is less important. Let me tell you why: ~ The bracelet is called a "clamper", because it has a spring-loaded hinge in the back. It opens at the front and fits just about any size wrist with a comfortable, snug hold. The profusion of beads hides both the opening at the front and the hinge at the back. ~ The earrings are clips and measure a dripping 1.75" long. All three pieces weigh a whopping 148 grams!
