Weiss Perfect Diamond Necklace

NWS 8-1316

~ The crystals in this beautiful Weiss necklace are so brilliant, I had a hard time photographing them. They refract light in a hundred different directions, and the camera tried to adjust accordingly. The result is, the pictures make some of the stones look darkened, but I guarantee you, every single crystal (there are almost 80 stones) is perfect, like the day they were cut.

~ All of the crystals have been prong set into thickly plated, rhodium, creating the effect of real diamonds set in real platinum, except you won't have to insure it for $60,000!

~ The necklace is comprised of chatons (rounds) and octagons. Each octagonal stone is surrounded by 4 chatons, and this pattern repeats all the way around to the ends.

~ The necklace terminates in a hook and chain, so you can adjust the length according to your neckline. The chain ends in a dangling, faceted octagon (a very unusual stone, by the way), and the hook itself is covered with faceted chatons, so as not to disrupt the pattern.

~ The necklace measures 12" long, extendable to 15 3/8" long. It measures just slightly under .5" wide.

~ Marked "WEISS" on the reverse of the hook clasp.

c. late 1950's, in pristine condition, all stones are original and all are perfect! Here we see Gene Tierney with Tyrone Powell on the cover of PictureGoer Magazine from the late 40's. She is wearing almost the identical necklace. So lovely.
