Trifari "Jewels of India" Beaded Bracelet

NWS 8-1247

~ This gorgeous bracelet is part of the famous Trifari series, "Jewels of India",  created in the early 1960's (the advertisement above comes from the magazine, "Harper's Bazaar", October, 1965) by Trifari's master designer, Alfred Philippe

~ The central motif, or top, of the bracelet has been thickly plated with faux gold, which forms the perfect background for the crystals

~ The design includes 12 faceted, faux gemstones that have been bezel-set into the goldtone metal; they include faux rubies, sapphires and emeralds cut into pear shapes.

~ At the center of the bracelet is one huge, faux emerald cabochon that has been prong-set into the goldtone metal. Deep within this stone are swirls of pale, gauze-like glass, making it look like a gemstone with natural veins; there is nothing like this in any other costume jewelry that I know of, except this famous Trifari series.

~ The top of this bracelet is also covered with pavé-set, faux diamonds - crystals of the finest quality and brilliance - that are faceted and reflect light in a million directions. This is nothing less than a spectacular work of art!

~ The bracelet measures 7.25" long and the top measures 1.25" widest. The bracelet is comprised of 2 strands of faceted, faux emerald crystals and has a jewel-studded, folding clasp so it is disguised underneath the design!

~ Anyone who knows Trifari knows that the coveted "Jewels of India" series is one of their most famous collections, highly sought after and regarded as a collector's "dream find"!

c. 1960, in near mint condition, no missing stones and no wear to the gold plating; all stones are original and all are perfect!
