Kenneth J. Lane Diamond Leaves Necklace & Earrings Set NWS 8-1490 ~ This magnificent Kenneth Jay Lane necklace is a work of art, and rarely do such pieces of quality ever reach the market! As you hold this incredible necklace in your hands and look at the scores of brilliant, faceted, faux diamonds, you know that such a piece could have easily come from Harry Winston. You look at the graceful, undulating, golden vine with its diamond leaves, and as you turn this necklace in your hands and feel its heft, and you absolutely know that it was created by a master! Well, of course! Why do you think the Duchess of Windsor preferred Kenneth's designs? She had access to the best jewelers in the world and could easily afford "the Crown Jewels", but she preferred Lane! ~ This necklace has a thickly plated, goldtone base metal, and it is actually made of individual links. The links are sculpted into curving forms, and there are 2 different kinds: In the center of the necklace are 2 linked vine segments, each with 10 rhinestone marquises. To either side are two smaller, linked segments, each with 7 marquises, that look like little sprouts coming off the main vine. It is balanced with 2 more large segments on either side, and then the rest of the length is made of little "sprout" segments all the way to the back. All in all, we're looking at well over 100 leaves (WOW!!) of faceted, clear crystals. And that's just the necklace! ~ Each link is attached to the next by hidden hinges so that the leaves move naturally and gracefully when you move, and every single stone reflects a hundred sparkles of light, so as to set a brilliant aura around you that will positively light up an entire room!
