Micromosaic Doves Brooch c. 1860

~ It's not easy to find these old micromosaic brooches with all of the tesserae (tiles) present and in perfect condition, but I've got one here! The background color is a deep azure blue, and features three doves; look at the gentle shading and gradation of color on each feather of the birds. This is the work of an Italian master, which is now all but a lost art

~ Measures 2.5" wide and .75" high

~ Set in brass with three tiny brass beads at the top and bottom, in the Etruscan-style of beading

~ Has its original "C" clasp and pin bar; "C" has been bent slightly, but still functions perfectly well

c. 1860, not a single tile is missing or cracked; no repairs, no replacement, this brooch is in excellent condition!
