19th Century Portrait Brooch

~ Her auburn hair, swept up in back with a ribbon, is slowly turning a soft gray around her face and she becomes more beautiful with the years

~ She wears a low cut dress with ruffled edging, so popular in the early to mid-19th century

~ Her portrait appears to be hand-painted on metal, and is bezel set into a brass frame with a rope-twisted edge

~ Measures just under 2" high and 1.5" wide

~ Portrait is in excellent condition with some minor spots of discoloration

~ Original pin stem which extends beyond the frame, and "C" clasp which is right for the time period
