Coro Lovebirds on a Flowering Branch Duette NWS 6-1241 ~ Famous, because they're so fabulous! These sweet little lovebirds will bring a smile to those who greet you and will add a touch of lightness to your step. How can they not make you happy! ~ Coro invented the "Duette" in the 1930's. An ingenious invention, the design involves two clips that fit together, joined by a mechanism in the back, so they can be worn as a single brooch. Or, you can take them apart, and wear them as two separate fur clips. Or, clip one lovebird over a necklace and wear it as a pendant (for more ideas on how to wear/use clips, see link below). ~ These lovebirds have been hand painted with enamel in colors of yellow, white, peach, tangerine and rose. The birds are perched on a brown enameled branch that is bursting with leaves and flowers of dark and pale pink, dark and pale blue, dark and pale green, and dark and pale lilac. The birds' beaks are enameled black. Just imagine the painstaking amount of work that went into creating this Duette! ~ At the center of each flower is a faceted, faux diamond. ~ The birds' eyes are depicted with tiny rhinestones, while their breasts are covered with more pavé-set, faceted crystals. ~ As you can see by the patent above, this Duette was designed by Gene Verricchio, a famous designer for Trifari, and was filed on April 8, 1941. The reverse of this Duette is signed "Coro Duette" and bears the patent number "1798867". ~ Measures 2.75" high and 1.75" wide c. 1941, in near mint condition Research: Fun Jewelry, by Nancy Schiffer, p. 142; American Costume Jewelry, by Brunialti & Brunialti, p. 57-58 Price = $320.00 16 Ways to Wear A Dress Clip Who is Coro?1, vict 2, people
