Swank Fly Fisherman's Leaping Fish Cufflinks & Fly Rod Tie Bar

~ Don't you just love Swank? They make the neatest men's jewelry and have been a leader in men's fashion designs since they first started making men's jewelry in 1927.

~ The cufflinks are made of thickly plated, goldtone metal. Each cufflink depicts a leaping fish. Their bodies are depicted with an inset of mother-of-pearl, while their heads, fins and tails are of  goldtone metal. The metal has been engraved with every detail, such as eyes, gills, and lines in the fins and tails. Just amazing!

~ The tie bar is a clip-on, with a good, strong hold. The handle of the fishing rod is also represented with an inset of mother-of-pearl. While the body of the rod is made of goldtone metal, the reel is silver plated metal, and so is the ever-so-thin strand of curling fishing line. The reel is also engraved with details, so it looks real!

~ The tie bar measures 2.25" wide; the fish measure just over .75" from tail to nose

~ SWANK, INC. was originally a women's jewelry manufacturer. It was founded in 1897 as Attleboro Manufacturing Co. In 1931, Swank began devoting full time to men's jewelry. It began the use of the mark "SWANK, INC." in the mid 1970s.  Because this set is marked "Swank" (on all 3 pieces) without the "Inc.", I date this set to the 1950's. It's in super condition, the set comes in its original, faux alligator skin box, and looks as though it has never been worn. Any angler would be thrilled to wear such a great vintage set!
