Art Nouveau Enamel & Faux Topaz Necklace on Hold NWS 4-1014 ~ Large, luscious, emerald-cut, faux topaz crystals draw ones attention from the other side of the room! Women ask, "Where did you find that?" After all, it isn't every day you see someone wearing an authentic Art Nouveau necklace! This gorgeous necklace is now over a century old, and there just aren't that many around! ~ Each stone is prong-set into brass metal; look at the third photo above, can you see the prongs? The prongs are like little hands, or bird's feet. How neat is that! ~ In perfect symmetry, 3 of the 5 stones are set into elaborate layered, floral motifs with red and white enameled leaves and flowers; a very few tiny flea bites to the enamel have not dulled its inherent beauty; we are not offended by its age, on the contrary, gentle signs of wear have only enriched its glorious patina and authenticity. This is the real thing, and it's rare to find one in such great condition! ~ Suspended from a flat, braided brass chain with spring ring closure; no discoloration or verdigris to the brass ~ Necklace measures 15.5" long and just over 1" at the widest ~ Crystals are in open backed settings, without foil (who needs foil when stones gleam this brightly!) c. 1900, in super condition, just extraordinary Price = $225.00on Hold |
