Trifari Enamel Leaves & Gold Sculptural Necklace

NWS  3-1227

~ This necklace is sublime. It's a sculpture in goldtone metal of a cascade of soft white enamel leaves with golden accents, and it's reminiscent of the Retro Period of the 1940's, in which the jewelry often exhibited what came to be called "frozen movement".   The graceful leaves overlap one another, spreading out from the center and drawing your eye up to the golden cobra band.

~ This leafy central motif is made of one solid piece. It is attached at either end to the flexible gold band. The highest portion of the design is slightly off-center making it much more interesting as a sculpture and is also raised above the surface by .5", so it has depth and impact. Rarely have I seen such a necklace of simple beauty and grace.

~ This necklace has a good heft to it. The wide gold band is slightly domed at the top, while the reverse lies flat, so it is comfortable on your neck while still being quite substantial.

~ The necklace has a folding clasp and measures 17.5" long. The central motif measures nearly 2" high at the deepest point.

~ Signed "Trifari " on the reverse

c. 1960, in near mint condition, with no signs of wear to the enamel

Price = $107.00
