Kenneth J. Lane "Necking" Giraffes Bracelet NWS 3-1447 ~ Aren't they adorable?! ~ Starting with the goldtone base metal, it is interesting to note that each "spot" on the giraffes is an independent cell outlined in gold. Each cell is then filled by hand with colored enamel, in this, a rich, deep honey color. The technique is called cloisonné. The outside has then been fired with white enamel to provide contrast. There was a lot of hand work involved in creating this imaginative bracelet! ~ The bracelet terminates at the top, with a 3 dimensional giraffe head at each end. Their eyes are large, faux emerald cabochons, and their goldplated mouth are slightly open, as if talking to each other. Golden ears are perked up, and their golden manes run down a portion of their necks. ~ This bracelet has the signature Lane construction of a spring-loaded hinge at the back, so it will fit any size wrist. There is no clasp. It holds to your wrist snugly, while remaining comfortable, and will bring smiles of wonder to everyone you meet. You've been on a jewelry safari, and this is your "trophy"!
~ Bracelet is signed on the reverse "Kenneth Lane©" c. 1960's, best guess, in perfect condition Price = $335.00 b 1, k-p Who was Lane?
