Trifari Floral Enamel & Rhinestone Fur Clip

~ This famous Trifari Fur Clip is featured in Maryanne Dolan's book, Collecting Rhinestone & Colored Jewelry (4th Ed.), p. 195, and this is what she says about it: "There are endless floral designs in clips and pins, but Trifari has a pair of floral sprays here (the photo in the book shows a pair) which rival Cartier and Tiffany in the not-so-easy detection sweepstakes". In other words, folks, this Trifari work of art looks like the real thing!

~ The stems of the poesy, and one curling leaf that looks like a fiddlehead fern (on the left side, mid way up) are depicted with 2 shades of green enamel.

~ There are also 3 leaves that are red enameled, with open centers, and pale pink enamel edges.

~ At the lower center, is a large, crystal-studded flower with a beautiful, cream white, faux glass pearl at its center.

~ The remainder of the flowers and leaves are covered in pavé-set, faceted crystals all of which have been into thickly plated rhodium metal.

~ Measures 2.75" high and 1.25" wide.

c. 1940, very slight wear to enamel in a few tiny spots. Please note: the edges of the red leaves, and the bottoms of the stems are are not chipped! This is not damage, it's part of the design. This clip is in almost perfect condition. Here's a lovely fur clip, from the cover of Vogue Magazine, 1940's.
