Magnificent Swordfish Brooch

~ This fantastic brooch is the catch of the day! He's absolutely gleaming in metallic enamel, sporting colors of deep ocean blue, shading to a paler blue, and a Caribbean aqua green. His ribbed dorsal fin has recessed dots that are a lusterous, soft grape color.

~ Not lifelessly flat, this brooch is beautifully contoured. His belly is domed, reaching a high point along the center axis of his belly. His fins are flared, and his tail is curving, so that he is completely 3-dimensional.

~ While the base metal is goldtone, the fish's body is rhodium plated (silvertone). It is pavé-set with scores of faceted, faux diamonds. Just dazzling! At his eye is one faceted, faux emerald, bezel-set into the gold.

~ This swordfish brooch is a whopper, measuring 4" from nose to tail. Gosh, do you think anyone will notice you when you walk into a room wearing him?

This is a contemporary piece, but I couldn't resist him. Never worn, he is in mint condition.
