Ten Commandments Charm Bracelet With Lord's Prayer

~ Rare and very difficult to find, this charm bracelet is adorable!  Each of the 10 goldtone charms represents one of the Commandments, and each charm is accompanied by a Roman numeral, so the Commandment can be easily identified.

~ 3,400 years ago, Moses was given these sacred Commandments by God, and they are still central to our lives today:

I. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me

II. Thou shalt not make any graven images or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth

III. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain

IV. Remember the Sabbath, and keep it holy

V. Honor thy father and thy mother

VI. That shalt not kill

VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery

VIII. Thou shalt not steal

IX. Thou shalt not bear false witness against any man

X. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is thy neighbor's

~ Each charm is in goldplated metal, and each is shaped like a stone tablet. They are made of stamped brass, are thin and lightweight, thus comfortable to wear even though there are 11 of them! In the above photos, the charms picked up reflections and shadows in the room, so the camera makes them look discolored. They aren't, they're all the same color of gold with light tarnish. Not bad considering this bracelet is almost 70 years old!

~ The bracelet is comprised of a loop chain, all in goldtone metal. It terminates in a folding clasp.

~ Measures 7" long and each charm measures approximately 1" long

c. 1940, in good vintage condition, some of the gold plating is worn and it does show its age, but each charm is perfectly readable.   Lovely vintage patina (I don't polish old jewelry preferring the aged patina). Though it is not signed, I believe this charm bracelet was made by Coro.
