Trifari Sterling Vermeil Grapevine Bracelet with Moonstones & Rubies

NWS 15-1467

~ Costume jeweoers in America had to use sterling silver during WWII, because all other white metals were restricted for the war effort. What a bonanza for vintage jewelry collectors. We not only have some of the finest jewelry designers the world has ever known, but we have those designs made in solid sterling.

~ This bracelet was made with vermeil. It's a lovely grapevine motif, which incorporates 10 large,  oval, glass moonstones and, scattered throughout, 25 faceted, faux rubies. And, like the morning dew that sparkles in the sun, Trifari has added 35 faceted, faux diamonds for added brilliance. Wow!

~ The leaves have ruffled edges, wrapped amongst curling vines, and the large, faux moonstones, with a slightly blueish tint, represent the clusters of grapes. The entire design is presented on 10 individual links, which terminate in a folding clasp. So gorgeous.

~ The bracelet measures almost .75" wide and just a tad under 7" long.

~ Signed "Trifari" on the reverse, with the crown logo above the "T". Also marked "STERLING" and "Des.Pat.No. 140780" (original patent filing shown above). The patent was signed by famous Trifari designer, Alfred Philipe, on April 10, 1945.

c. 1945, in excellent vintage condition, all stones are original and most of the vermeil is still intact. This bracelet is beautiful!
