Luminous Trifari 'Clair de Lune' Moonstone & Ruby Bracelet NWS 15-1129 ~ These aren't real moonstones and rubies, of course, but they sure do look real! Six half moon-shaped, faux moonstones garnish this goldtone bracelet, 3 on either side ~ And scattered throughout the design are faceted, faux rubies of a fantastic raspberry color; And, you'd expect them to be chatons (rounds), right? Well, they're emerald-cut stones!! Fantastic! ~ Accompanying these raspberry rubies are several faceted, simulated diamonds ~ The backdrop for all these fiery, faux gems is a scrolling design of thickly plated, golden metal that repeats itself across the front and tapers to the sides ~ The design for this bracelet came from one of Trifari's most famous designers, Alfred Philippe, whose design for this 'Clair de Lune' cuff was filed on November 23, 1949; above is the advertisement for Clair de Lune as published in Harper's Bazaar, February, 1950. ~ Bracelet measures 6 3/8" long (inside circumference); front design measures 3" long and 7/8" high ~ The front of the cuff is braced with two golden bands that taper to the sides; the rear of the cuff is a single, goldtone band ~ Bracelet has a spring-loaded hinge on one side, and a locking safety clip on the opposite side c. 1950, minor spots of wear to plating on the inside of the band, but mostly in excellent condition, with all stones original and bright! Price = $320.00 Who is Trifari? |
