Etruscan Archaeological Bracelet c. 1935

NWS 14-948

- Inspired by the many 19th century archaeological excavations, including Pompeii, jewelry fashions began to take on the appearance of ancient artifacts.  This stunning bracelet was meant to convey a a sense of ancient Rome

- It is comprised of 5 links, and each link is gently domed;  thus, if you place it on a table, you will see that each segment rises above the table surface by .25", adding to the sense that these links are miniature shields

- While the bracelet is made of goldtone metal (probably brass), each link contains a silver wreath, symbol of Roman authority, that really stands out in the design, so fabulous

- Measures 7.5" long and 2" wide

- Shovel clasp

c. 1935, in great condition, with an aged patina commensurate with its age, and some loss of goldtone plating on the reverse from normal wear.

Price = $132.00
