Lovely Diamond & Enamel Dress Clip

~ This is such a lovely dress clip, so typical of the class and style of the 1930's!

~ Both the flower and the flower bud have been painted with navy blue enamel, but the artist has left the edges plain, so that the petals are dramatically edged with gold

~  Both flower and bud are also covered with pavé-set, faceted, faux diamonds, while the inside of the bud is navy blue enamel, and peeking out from the center of the bud is a faux sapphire marquis - so delicious!

~ The artist has also placed a larger, marquis faux sapphire at the center of the large flower

~ And for a little surprise, there another tiny flower, tucked into the design, depicted in goldtone metal, with one, faceted, clear crystal at its center

~ The leaf has a deep green enamel, with its center incised, and bearing the same goldtone edging

~ The design is that of a poesy, tied together at the top with a golden ribbon; this was a tremendously popular theme in the late 1930's and 1940's, often called "Retro"

~ The clip measures almost 2.25" long and 1 .75" wide

~ The clip has 4 teeth and retains plenty of good "snap" for a good, strong hold

c. 1930's, in excellent vintage condition; slight wear to the plating of the clip mechanism on the back, but the plating of the clip itself, both on the back and on the front looks almost new, with enamel in near mint condition
