19th Century Portrait on Porcelain

NWS 12-971

- Her lovely red hair has been coifed into ringlets, framed with a blue velvet ribbon

- Her beautiful, youthful face shows a "peaches & cream" complexion, and the artist has delicately painted a pink blush to her cheeks and lips

- She wears a low cut gown, edged with white and rose colored ruffles,  typical of early to mid-nineteenth century costume

- Measures 1.75" wide and 2.25" high

- The porcelain oval plaque is prong-set into a brass backing, and it retains its original pin stem and "C" clasp

- The outer rim of the porcelain has guilt edging, some of which is worn, otherwise in perfect condition, with no scratches, cracks or chips
