1950's Apricot Wine Crystal Bracelet, Very Different! NWS 12-1465 ~ This is what was called a "cocktail bracelet" in the 1950's. There are lots of them still available on the market these days, and almost all of them were made with clear crystals. I've never seen one with stones this color. I don't even know what to call this color, or what to compare it to. So I settled on "apricot wine". It was tough to photograph too, but I can tell you that every crystal in this bracelet is the same color, and none have discolored with age. To make it even tougher, the stones seem to change their hue, depending on the lighting, as you can see by the photos. ~ Whatever we call it, the color is mesmerizing! There are 42 large, emerald-cut stones that run in two rows along the entire length of the bracelet. And there are 86 faceted chatons (rounds) the run up the center and also cover the clasp, so as not to interrupt the design. Soooo yummy! ~ All of the stones have been prong-set into goldtone metal. The construction of the bracelet is slightly domed, so that the center is slightly higher than the sides. ~ The bracelet measures 7.75" long and almost 1" wide. It terminates with a shovel clasp and bears a safety chain, another sign of quality. c. 1950's, in excellent condition, very light wear to the plating on the reverse, which, of course, cannot be seen when worn.
