Fantastic Pot Metal Brooch With 

Raspberry Moonstones & Diamonds

~ I love these old pot metal brooches from the 1930's. This brooch is from the era of the American Depression:   President Hoover was in the White House..... the unemployment rate was at a staggering all time high, 25.2%..... "Black Tuesday" on Wall Street saw the record breaking exchange of 16,410,035 shares of stock being virtually dumped, worthless, on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.... Hitler takes the highest position of political power in Germany, and officially declares the beginning of the Third Reich..... Now look at the jewelry that our grandmothers and great-grandmothers were wearing. Nothing and nobody could break the American spirit.

~ There are 8 raspberry-colored, crystal cabochons that form little flower buds along the long, gently curving, silver boughs, scattered with faceted, pavé-set, faux diamond, dew drops

~ Gathered at the base with a metal ribbon tie are the stems and leaves, heavy with the diamond dew, and where their tips are turned, the artist has placed yet more  faux diamonds, as if sparkling in the morning sun; this is a simple, yet elegant work of art from a long gone era, when women weren't afraid to be glamorous, even in the worst of times

~ The brooch measures 3.5" long, and almost 2" high

c. 1930, in great vintage condition, with some wear to the silvering on the back, not seen when worn; all stones are original and are bright and clear!
