Sterling Silver Horse Head Earrings

~ Perfect for the horse woman (or girl)  in your life! These sterling earrings are from  the 1940's. I can just picture Elizabeth Taylor wearing them in the movie, "National Velvet"

~ It may be hard to see in the photo, but the details that the artist has included are amazing. Engraved in the sterling are strands from the horse's mane, along with eyes, ears, muzzle and flared nostrils

~ The earrings are screw-ons, but could easily be switched to clips; the stems on both are marked "sterling"

~ They measure .75" high and .75" wide

~ What looks like black spaces inside the horses' profiles are actually cut outs; you're seeing through them to the black background

c. 1940's, in great condition, with vintage patina (I don't polish vintage jewelry!)
