Beautiful Victorian Revival Brooch NWS 10-895S ~ This is a marvelous brooch, a take-off of the 19th century bar pins that were so popular ~ Two tear-drop shaped, faux sapphire cabochons are bezel-set at either side of the pin, and at the center is an emerald-cut, faceted fuchsia crystal that is just amazing! ~ All 3 crystals have open back settings, with a mirrored foil backing that reflects glittery, colorful lights ~ Take another peek at the photo, and you'll see that the antiqued goldtone metal is quite elaborately decorated: the edging has diamond shapes that form a frame around the crystals; there are also scrolling vines that surround the stones as well ~ Brooch measures just over 2.75" wide and just under 1.25" high ~ This is a well executed piece, with a good heft, appropriate for its size and top quality crystals ~ Standard swivel-head safety clasp on reverse c. 1960, mint condition Price = |
