Magnificent Coro Sterling Crown Brooch

NWS 10-919

Another famous piece from Coro!  This sterling crown pin was made in commemoration for Queen Elizabeth's ascension to the British Throne in 1942

~ It is loaded with jewels!  2 big fat faux cabochon emeralds are prong-set on either side and one juicy faux ruby at center stage

~ Surrounding these cabochons are pavé-set, faceted, simulated diamonds and sapphires, with 5 faux emerald baguettes aligned across the rim of the crown

~ All set in goldwashed sterling silver

~ The reverse is marked "Corocraft" and "STERLING", and bears the flying pegasus logo, dating it to the early 1940's

~ Featured in numerous books on costume jewelry. Here's one: 20th Century Costume Jewellery, by Angie Gordon, P. 168, with a value shown of $300 - $350

c.1940, in superb condition with very slight signs of wear on the back; front is perfect

Price = $165.00
