Trifari Lily of The Valley Fur Clip

on Hold

NWS 2-1344

~ An amazing, incredible, simply stunning work of art from Trifari, loaded with glass pearls and dozens of faceted, faux diamonds!

~ The base metal has been thickly plated with rhodium for a brilliance similar to real platinum.

~ Nine glass pearl "flowers", in graduated sizes to the smallest at the top, are set on a gently curving stem, laden by its own weight with flowers and droplets of early morning, faux diamond, dew.

~ The leaves and stems are depicted in light and dark green enamel details, while one stem is studded with more pavé-set, clear crystals. The tips of the leaves gently curl, revealing more diamond work beneath.

~ The stems are gathered by the suggestion of a tie at their base. This is a common and very popular theme of the Retro design era (1938-1952), and these pieces have become very collectible.

~ The fur clip measures just under 3" high and 1.5" wide.

~ The clip mechanism retains a solid hold, with an extra "tooth" on the back to hold it to the fabric snugly.

~ The clip mechanism is signed "Trifari" with the crown logo above the "T"; reverse of clip is also marked "Des. Pat. No. 119101".

c. 1938, in superb vintage condition, with microscopic wear to the enamel (it is near mint).  I have replaced 3 missing stones. Glass pearls are original and perfect! It is very rare to find an enameled piece of this age in such fine condition.

Price =  $365.00on Hold
